Balsam Mountain Inn, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, is one of the South’s grand old inns. Built at the turn of the century, this lovingly restored romantic inn features a casual elegance that’s lured travelers to the North Carolina Mountains for decades.

Sunday thru Wednesday: We have a great 'After the Ball' driving route planned. Beginning Sunday afternoon, we will work our way into the North Georgia mountains, through Helen and the Richard Russell Parkway, with the first night's stopover in Hiawassee, Ga. On the second day, we will drive into eastern North Carolina, along the Nantahala Gorge, and onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. For me, this is one of the most beautiful and scenic routes in the country. We will stay the night in a turn of the century hotel on Balsam Mountain. The final leg will be a short return to the parkway for a drive into Ashville and a tour of the Biltmore Estates. The the final night will be in Lake Lure, N.C., about 25 miles south of Ashville. The driving will be leisurely with ample time for relaxation and socializing during our overnight stops. We have secured group discounts for all of our accommodations, so be certain to mention you are with the 190SL Group. Reservations are up to each individual to make. Host: Walt and Valerie Puryear |
