	We took Route 40 (which replaced Route 66) through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and parts of California, getting off of the expressway occasionally to see parts of the old Route 66.  This is Winslow Az.

Another gas station (Route 66 brand).	Truck for sale ... Come and get it.	Wigwam Motel, typical of the pop culture along old Route 66.

A stop at the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest in northern Arizona was a must.	The Painted desert.	More Painted desert.
